BUSINESS DAYS AND HOURS

In Algeria, workdays are from Saturday to Wednesday. Business hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, banks, financial institutions and administrations dealing with the public are open from Sunday to Thursday. Banks open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

Some of the main holidays are:

    * May 1 : Labor day

    * July 5 : Independence day

    * November 1 : National day

Other important holidays are observed in accordance with the Moslem calendar.

Practical information concerning the circuits and excursions in Hoggar and Tassili ( South Algeria)

The tours in the Sahara are possible from October till the end of April.

The programs bound for the areas of the great south (Hoggar and Tassili) require specific measures and a understanding in the conditions of participation.

The tours and expedtions  to Hoggar and Tassili are programmed  far from all agglomerations. Also, those require a physical conditions and morals not covenant always with the elderly and the participants seeking comfort.

By physical conditions, it is necessary to include/understand an aptitude to be carried out daily ,long walks on foot, of the rough grounds, the bivouacs stays to open air with minimum of equipment, early morning departures and a light and preserved restoration.

The morals conditions needs a team play, and integration with the group and acceptance of unexpected possiblities caused during the trip.

it is necessary to be equiped with the personal effects such as: flashlight, sunglasses, sun creme, tobaccos, and shoe adequate…etc

Vehicles: 4x4 cars for 4 passengers + 1 driver.

Lodging: except Tamanrasset and Djanet where lodging is planned in hotels, during the tours, the nights passed:

- in Hoggar, in refuges or local huts .

- in Tassili, under the tent and in bivouac.

As an indication, the temperature can border 0° the night and 20/25° the day. The provided tents are recent tents (2 places), Marabout or family (2/4 places).

A mattress and wool blankets are also provided in case stays in huts.

The bags beds are not provided and must be brought by the participants.

Meal: (except Tamanrasset and Djanet)

Breakfast: coffee, tea or milk with bread and jam.

lunch: entree , cold meat and vegetables, dessert.

dinner: entree, hot dish, dessert.

No drinks is provided, only water. The participants can carry drinks from the beginning of Djanet or Tamanrasset.

Medicines: All the trips are equipped with emergency box and necessary medicines.

Luggage: Only shoulder bags are accepted.

Personal equipment: The participants in the circuits must provide themselves with the following elements: Bags of bed and jacket in sleeping bag for the night. Climbing boots, Woollen articles, Flashlight with piles, Shaver with piles, Trousers for the ladies essential, Clothing light, refreshing Towels, Kleenex, Cream for the lips and the face, fabric or Straw hat, Sunglasses, Films (video, photo), Tobacco.
